MINUTE entry before the Honorable Manish S. Shah: The motion to seal [6] is denied. The court is not persuaded that relevant documents will be destroyed or that the transfer of assets is an irreparable harm if this case is not under seal. The public interest in understanding how the courts are being used outweighs plaintiff's conclusory and speculative fears. The clerk shall immediately unseal all filings. The motion for early discovery [7] is granted in part. Plaintiff has good cause to issue early discovery to identify defendants and to determine the proper method of service of process. That defendants may not participate in this litigation is not a good reason to authorize merits or damages discovery into sales information. Plaintiff may issue a Rule 45 subpoena to Amazon to obtain customer account information for the seller aliases limited to contact and address information. Plaintiff must file a status report by 9/30/26 stating its plan to serve defendants. The court expects plaintiff to comply with the deadline to serve defendants set by Rule 4. Notices Mailed.
