ORDER denying [5] Motion for Leave to File Documents under Seal without prejudice, allowing Plaintiff to refile motion with sufficient particularity as to good cause for proceeding under seal. At present, the Court finds that Plaintiff has failed to show good cause for proceeding under seal because he has not stated, with any particularity, that the Defendants in this particular case have improperly transferred assets to avoid judgment or have even in prior instances engaged in such improper conduct. Generalized allegations about counterfeiter Defendants do not suffice. Plaintiff may refile his Motion to File under Seal with sufficient particularity; for example, Plaintiff may show that these particular Defendants have a track record of moving assets or changing names or addresses, or have engaged in other conduct to avoid seizure of any ill-gotten gains. Signed by Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan on 8/21/2026. Text-only entry; no PDF document will issue. This text-only entry constitutes the Order of the Court or Notice on the matter. |
